Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?

No, you do not need a referral from a primary care doctor to be seen by our sports medicine team. You can book directly with us to begin your assessment and treatment.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your initial visit will include a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, a physical examination focusing on your area of concern, and often a biomechanical assessment. Depending on your condition, we may utilize in-office musculoskeletal ultrasound to view your joints and tissues in real-time. We will then discuss our findings and create a customized treatment plan.

Do you only treat athletes?

Not at all. While we work extensively with athletes of all levels, our sports medicine services are for anyone experiencing musculoskeletal pain or looking to improve their physical function. Whether your goal is to run a marathon, return to the gym (perhaps eventually transitioning into our Strength Training program), or simply walk without pain, we can help.

Are ultrasound-guided injections painful?

We take great care to ensure your comfort during any procedure. While you may feel some pressure or mild discomfort, the use of ultrasound guidance allows for extreme precision, which typically minimizes pain and improves the effectiveness of the injection. We also use local anesthetics to numb the area when appropriate.
